Cathedral
Decreed the seat of a dioscese by Pope John XXII in 1318, the cathedral was built under the first bishop Barthelemy. Thirty five bishops ruled the destiny of Alet until 1793. The cathedral was destroyed by the Calvinists in 1577.
The chancel of the cathedral (pictured) is said to have been built on the remnants of an ancient shrine dedicated to the Roman goddess Diana.
L'Evêché
Former residence of the bishops of Alet, it is now a nice restaurant to enjoy a long lunch filled with local delicacies such as Cassoulet, under the century-old trees.
