Minerve

Minerve is located on a natural cliff carved on three sides by the rivers Cesse and Brian, and houses a massive natural tunnel.

The village is also the site of a grim historical event. that was central to the history of the Aude region. On Juy 22nd, 1210, one hundred and forty villagers refusing to renounce their faith were burned at the stake during the crusade to eradicate the Cathar heresy in the region.
